Great, interesting product. They give you insight to historical events that you will never find in history books. Every issue also includes a copy of the hand-writtten supporting documents and a typewritten version. Great, great product! There Customer Service process is highly responsive. The only downside is that when I ordered a second 6 month subscription my first letter was a duplicate. I made one phone call and days later the problem was resolved and I had a replacement. Bottom Line - The History Mailings and their outstanding customer service far out weighs any minimal problems..

My husband is really into history, so this was perfect for him. He was very surprised and intrigued, and thought it was a great gift for the guy who has everything!

I learned about History By Mail while listening to a podcast. I instantly looked the subscription service up and liked the prospect of getting a high quality copy of a historical document each month. My subscription worked out to be less than $6 per month and I would much rather spend money on something that I will learn from such as this than other wasteful past times. I have only received my first month's subscription so far but I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! It has given me the chance to learn about a topic I would otherwise probably never think twice about or even know about. I enjoy holding a copy of a historical document as it gives me the chance to feel like I'm going back in time. It beats reading something off of a computer screen! I appreciate the History By Mail team and the information that they enclose with the historical document as it gives an unopinionated account of what you're looking at. Just the facts!

My high school freshman son is obsessed with US history. He watches so many documentaries and reads so many books. But these letters provide something not found in a book - context and perspective from someone in that era. Great find!
